Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a couple things that might save you some headaches and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Menomonie and western Wisconsin and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this short checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried. - Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency. - Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at optimal efficiency. Spring is the best time to schedule your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to arrange your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 715-352-4052.
